Born in Indianola Mississippi but raised in St. Paul, Nick has been a Rondo community member for over 28 years. An established businessman, artist, community activist and political consultant Nick has a great thumb print in the community from running many field campaigns to bridging the intersections of Hip Hop and politics in past election cycles, founding Titan Administration Records, mentored many prominent MN Artist, to co-directing MN Voice civic engagement programming. Nicks background has made New Lens a natural fit for him as the Program Director. The mission and vision of New Lens is exciting and fills and void in the lives of black boys that make the work an honor and a privilege.
Shay Glorius L. Martin
Shay Glorius L. Martin (aka Glo) was born, raised, and currently resides in St. Paul, MN. Glo feels that he is fulfilling his life's purpose by serving, encouraging, and helping to evolve this wonderful organization for each and every youth as well as adults that have been and will be impacted as the lofty goals of this society are met. Glo has completely devoted himself to changing the lives of African-American males and for him it's not a job, it's a calling. Glo also has his own business, Pack Material, LLC.
Willie Roller III
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Willie is from the Lower Eastside of St.Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing. Willie says he is a part of New Lens Urban Mentoring Society to give back to the same community that raised him and impact young men's lives for the better. Willie is also CEO of WJRJ Industries, LLC. A marketing consulting firm that focuses on giving small non-profits and businesses low cost marketing assistance ranging from social media marketing, photography, graphic design, website design, event planning, infrastructure assistance, and more.
SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Rob Nelson is originally from York, SC, but has been living in Saint Paul, MN since August 2014. He studied Art at York Technical College in Rock Hill, SC. He is now enrolled at Concordia University working on his Bachelors’ of Science with a focus on Computer Sciences. He continues to support the infrastructure of New Lens’ technology needs, while being the mentor to the Youth Philanthropy cohort. Rob leads the New Lens, “YouthBank,” which has risen over $7,500 since it started last year. The mentees within the YouthBank have also been led by Rob to grant money to several schools across Saint Paul. Another role Rob plays within New Lens is the Youth Summer Job experience. He manages their time sheets, and makes sure all work sites are running smoothly. Rob’s most memorable moment with New Lens was the Camping/Hiking experience. New Lens partnered with Outward Bound to take a dozen mentees to the Superior hiking Trail for 6 days for a 40+ mile hiking trip. It was a great learning experience for him, and the mentees as a whole.
Eskender Yousuf is a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is a current MA candidate at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. His studies are focused on Black males and first-generation scholars. He strongly believes in cultivating our next generation of youth so they can stand on our shoulders and guide them towards a prosperous future. His beliefs align with New Lens Urban Mentoring creating a glove fit. Thus fueling his reasoning for contributing to the organization.
