The George Washington Carver Enterprise Is Back

The George Washington Carver Enterprise is back again for another summer thanks to our partnership with Right Track St. Paul. This year’s combination of summer jobs that New Lens Urban Mentoring Society will be offering the mentees will be a landscaping project and help run a radio show.

Thanks to our partnership with a local radio station on the East Side of St. Paul, WEQY 104.7 FM. Our mentees are going to learn how to create, structure, and produce a radio show. It is a tremendous experience for them as they expand their skill sets for a brighter future in whatever endeavors they may pursue.

Thanks to our partnership with South Rondo Greening the mentees will be involved in a project with building an outdoor theater on Selby Ave. The mentees will be learning how to build infrastructures using wood and hand tools, land excavation, removal of small trees and shrubs, light gardening, and energy saving by building small windmills.

New Lens Urban Mentoring Society is excited for this year’s George Washington Carver Enterprise and the outcomes that it will bring by the end of summer. Stay tuned future articles and updates on each of the jobs.
